The ultimate testament to T.K. Khaleel's mastery is his unique sourdough starter, a living culture he has personally nurtured for over 18 years. This starter was accepted into the prestigious Puratos Sourdough Library in Belgium – a global repository preserving the world's most significant sourdoughs.

Catalogued as Exhibit No. 128, it stands as a permanent symbol of his craft, making him the only Asian baker to ever receive this historic honour.

Roots of a Visionary

Born in Mahe, India, in 1959, T.K. Khaleel grew up in a modest home that instilled in him discipline, humility and perseverance. At just nineteen, he left for Qatar, where he began as a sales assistant in a supermarket bakery. What started as a job soon became a calling. Over the next fifteen years, he immersed himself in every aspect of baking, building the foundation for a career that would later transform the Middle East’s baking landscape.
